There is also a rice terrace called Oyama Senmaida (Oyama Thousand Rice Terraces), which is recognized as one of Japan’s \u201c100 Best Rice Terraces”. On top of that, it’s the closest “Thousand Rice Terraces” to Tokyo. Like many areas of southern Chiba, Kamogawa is great for local seasonal fruits such as lemon, lime, orange (of many varieties), passion fruit, papaya, strawberries, melon, nashi pear, watermelon and even jabuticaba. We recommend passing by the farmers’ market inside Sato no Muji<\/a> for the fresh local produce. We also recommend this farmers’ market<\/a> located inside an old elementary school, which is 20 minutes drive from Sato no Muji.<\/p>\n

When you go to the Kamogawa area, we highly recommend passing by Ubara, where you can enjoy a nice coastal walk with scenic views (Ubara Utopia Hiking Course).<\/p>\n
