Gogoshima, also known as Gogo Island, is located in the Seto Inland Sea. It is part of the Kutsuna Islands and lies just a 10-minute ferry ride from Matsuyama in Shikoku. This small island is a paradise for citrus maniacs like us, with countless orchards growing over 30 varieties of top-notch fruits, including Setoka orange, Hime Koharu, and Beni Madonna orange\u2014insanely juicy with that signature jelly-like texture. Most of these are in season between winter and early spring.
\nWhile winter is a paradise for citrus lovers, June to mid October is ideal for marine activities like snorkeling and SUP.<\/p>\n
Gogoshima Beer Farm<\/a> is an absolute must for craft beer lovers, set inside a beautiful 150-year-old traditional wooden house. They brew a wide range of beers, including ones made with local citrus fruits \u2014 our favorite is a hazy IPA with Beni Madonna oranges.<\/p>\n For coffee lovers, Cotton John Coffee<\/a> is highly recommended. Their affogato is outstanding, and the owner is also a great source of local fishing tips \u2014 you can even rent fishing gear at Shima no Eki<\/a> next door.<\/p>\n
