Nokogiriyama (Mt. Nokogiri), Chiba
Nokogiriyama (鋸山), meaning “sawtooth mountain”, is a low mountain which is accessible by ropeway with a group of Buddhist temples cut into the sheer cliff walls of the mountain. As it is an easily accessible destination, it does attract crowds especially during Spring and Autumn. We would recommend avoiding weekends if possible.
Nokogiriyama is located about 1 hour from central Tokyo by car via the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line. It is also accessible by ferry from Kurihama on the Miura Peninsula.
