Umegase Keikoku and Yoroko Keikoku Gorge

This picturesque, rugged area has several hiking trails (including stream hiking), and is well worth spending a full day to explore.

If you have time and are interested in a man-made caves from many centuries ago, we recommend checking out Dondon Cave of Urajiro River, which is only about 10mins drive from Yoro Ravine.
Chiba Prefecture has over 450 hand-carved caves which were made centuries ago in order to redirect river water for irrigation purposes. These artificial shortcuts are called ‘Kawamawashi’, and are commonly seen in Chiba. They were made from the 1600’s until about 100 years ago.
